Job Description POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: We are seeking a skilled and motivated CAD Drafter/Detailer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently and accurately creating fully dimensioned shop drawings and assembly instructions for frames and other custom fabricated structures based on client specifications while upholding company standards. You may also be tasked with proposing design solutions based on specific criteria. The position involves close collaboration with the Design Technician and other CAD Drafters to ensure the creation of comprehensive documentation, including 3D illustrations of the merchandise. Seeking applicants with experience utilizing AutoCAD to build large frames for advertising $22 - $30/hr Direct Hire, No Contract Period ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Utilize computer-aided design software (Autodesk AutoCAD) to produce detailed shop drawings and assembly instructions for custom fabricated frames and structures. Must be proficient in both 2D and 3D drafting. Interpret client specifications to produce accurate, fully dimensioned drawings. Work closely with the Design Technician and drafting team to develop design solutions when needed. Prepare complete documentation packages, including detailed shop drawings and assembly guidelines. Generate 3D visualizations to support clear understanding of the designs. Create Job Path Cutting files for the Digital department as needed. Participate in product development efforts, contributing to the design and enhancement of custom structures. Collaborate effectively with internal teams such as designers, engineers, and project managers. Ensure all outputs meet accuracy, quality, and timeline expectations. COMPETENCIES: High proficiency in CAD tools, especially Autodesk AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor. Solid understanding of CAD, 3D design, and drafting terminology. Familiarity with standard drawing views, practices, and documentation standards. Strong technical aptitude and spatial visualization skills. Keen attention to detail and precision in dimensioned drawings. Ability to interpret and apply client design requirements effectively. Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and materials used in metal and frame fabrication is a plus. Effective problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative work ethic. Prior experience in a similar drafting or detailing role preferred. Basic understanding of industrial safety, health, and environmental practices. Must avoid injury and request assistance when handling objects over 50 lbs. or those exceeding 47 inches in any dimension. Proper lifting techniques and equipment must be used. SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook. Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator experience is a plus, but not required.
