About the Role

Our client, a multinational software corporation, is a leading provider of software solutions, and serves various industries and business functions. We’re looking for experienced and proactive technical writers to join their documentation team on an ad-hoc basis as contractors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing, familiarity with DITA authoring tools, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality documentation for software products. The position is project-based and dependent on workload fluctuations, offering flexibility in scheduling and workload ideal for a freelancer. We’ll create a panel of contractors to support various projects and initiatives within our client company. Location: 100% remote Position Type: Contract/Freelance Duration: Per project, as required What we’re looking for:

• Experienced technical writer familiar with DITA authoring tools and documentation delivery process
• Previous experience working at SAP
• Passed the SAP technical writing test (or willing to sit the online test to qualify for the panel)
• Excellent writing skills
• Proactive, with experience of working in documentation teams and regularly communicating status to the Documentation Lead and colleagues
• Experience in following style guides and using templates
• 3+ years as a technical writer
• Experience of writing software documentation including in-app help, user guides, configuration guides, and administration guides

Preferably:

• Experience of IXIA CCMS
• Experience of Jira and GitHub
• Experience of collaborating with user experience designers
• Experience of creating simple graphics
