About the role... We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our R&D team as an R&D Manager. With true flexibility, you can choose to work from one of our Hub offices in Castle Donington, Birmingham, or London or if you live a bit further away, from home. Our R&D team brings together the cohesion of a close-knit group with the capability of a 35‑strong, high‑performing consultancy. We actively support one another and share a commitment to building something that endures. Our strength lies in the breadth and depth of our expertise - spanning engineering, biotechnology, chemistry, and IT, alongside more unconventional perspectives (including even an astrophysicist). We support our IT & Software clients through R&D tax incentives and Patent Box relief as well as through working with an ecosystem of advisors such as grants providers and patent attorneys. A day in the life of an IT R&D Manager… Be one of our “Delivery Leads” on claims across Software /IT clients, looking after and owning a portfolio of claims. Work collaboratively with our senior managers who will support you on claims. Build fantastic relationships with clients delivering outstanding service. Lead the technical and financial aspects of R&D claims. Seek opportunities to support senior members of the team on practice development initiatives, be that training, wellbeing, marketing etc. We think it’s key for everyone to understand how the R&D business runs, top-to-bottom and inside-out. As an IT R&D Manager, you will need to have an analytical outlook with a process driven mindset. You will need to have a good track record in building solid relationships with clients and colleagues. Key experience includes… Ideally, you will be experienced managing R&D Incentives claims for Software /IT clients from both a technical and financial perspective IT/Software background would be advantageous An open mind to try something new with the drive and ambition to learn and grow About us...
