[Remote] Business Development Manager - Injection Molding - Automotive and Non Automotive

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Thornley Corporate Solutions is representing a major plastics injection molding business, recognized for their flexibility and technical breadth. They are seeking a Business Development Manager to grow an existing customer portfolio and drive new business in various sectors, primarily automotive.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of and grow an existing customer portfolio, primarily located in Detroit and Chicago
  • Drive new business, focusing on key sectors: automotive (70%), lawn/garden, industrial, medical, renewable energy, data centers, and drone manufacturing
  • Build relationships with Tier 1 customers and engage directly with engineers on technical requirements and value solutions
  • Enjoy a strong support system
  • Work independently and remotely, with periodic, fully expensed travel to clients and manufacturing facilities

Skills

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in plastics/injection molding sales or account management
  • Proven ability to manage and grow major accounts while driving substantial new business
  • Technical proficiency to converse with engineers, review cost breakdowns, and oversee the sales process independently
  • Highly self-driven, results-oriented, and comfortable working in a remote set-up
  • Experience in automotive, lawn/garden, industrial, renewable, or medical markets strongly preferred
