TurboVets is transforming how veterans access the benefits they’ve earned, and they are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to scale, harden, and automate their cloud platform. The role involves designing CI/CD architectures, evolving AWS infrastructure, optimizing release workflows, and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain GitHub Actions pipelines optimized for large multi-service deployments
• Architect Continuous Delivery flows using AWS CodeDeploy and related AWS services
• Lead container orchestration using AWS ECS, including manifest and deployment strategy design
• Implement and manage Infrastructure-as-Code using CDK for Terraform
• Partner with solution architects and engineering leads to shape platform direction
• Improve system reliability, observability, and release consistency
• Drive DRY, minimalistic CI/CD designs that reduce operational overhead
• Mentor junior DevOps and software engineers in DevOps best practices
• Communicate DevOps priorities and tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Skills

• 5–8+ years in DevOps/SRE/platform engineering roles
• Strong command of: Docker/Linux containers
• AWS services (ECS, EC2, CodeDeploy, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch)
• GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools
• Networking fundamentals in distributed systems
• Shell scripting (Bash/POSIX)
• Blue-Green or similar progressive delivery techniques
• Solid understanding of package and dependency management (e.g., NPM)
• Experience with Jira, Scrum, or Kanban workflows
• High-availability architecture design
• DNS/edge networking familiarity
• Exposure to FinOps or cloud cost governance
