[Remote] Mainframe with Devops Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Dice is seeking a Mainframe with DevOps Engineer for a remote position. The role requires extensive experience in Mainframe development and DevOps practices, focusing on scripting and migration activities.
Responsibilities
- 10+ years of Mainframe development, SCM, DevOps, or modernization experience along with scripting exp
- Strong experience with Broadcom Endevor administration and migration activities
- Hands-on experience with GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or similar Git repositories
- Experience with IBM Dependency Based Build (DBB)
- Experience with IBM Developer for z/OS (IDz)
- Strong scripting experience in REXX and Groovy
- Experience with Jenkins Pipeline development and CI/CD implementation
- Hands-on knowledge of YAML and Shell scripting (USS/Linux)
- Strong understanding of COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, TSO/ISPF, and z/OS environments
- Experience with USS (Unix System Services) and Git integration on z/OS
- Knowledge of source code management, release management, and DevOps practices
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Endevor to Git migration projects
- Experience with IBM Dependency Discovery (IDD) or application discovery tools
- Knowledge of Python, Java, and REST API integrations
- Experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, UrbanCode Deploy (UCD), or similar deployment tools
- Experience in Mainframe modernization and DevOps transformation initiatives
- Exposure to Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, or Retail domains
- IBM Mainframe, DevOps, or Agile certifications preferred
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Skills
