Minnesota IT Services is the information technology agency for the State of Minnesota, dedicated to delivering secure and reliable technology solutions. The Transactions Technician role involves providing technical personnel support to the Human Resources Division, processing HR transactions, and conducting new employee meetings while overseeing benefits coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical personnel support to the Human Resources Division staff and MNIT Services managers, supervisors and employees
• Process, compile, and report all human resources transactions
• Accurately maintain the associated databases
• Conduct new employee meetings
• Oversee the coordination, enrollment, and access to the fringe benefits available to MNIT employees

Skills

• Position requires a minimum of one (1) year of IT related experience performing a variety of HR support functions including human resource transactions, benefits and insurance administration
• Use of HR systems (ex: PeopleSoft or equivalent)
• Knowledge of Employment law, rules, and regulations
• Experience completing the I-9 Form, Employment Eligibility Verification and knowledge of acceptable documents
• Math skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate percentages and use simple formulas
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding
• Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving to deliver positive user experiences
• A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources may substitute for one year of experience
• Experience with SEMA4 (PeopleSoft) personnel transactions processing
• Experience with DocuSign
• Experience, training or familiarity with Microsoft Suites Applications such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of State personnel laws, rule, policies and procedures, and union contract provisions
• Experience providing benefits or insurance guidance
