Virtual Speech Language Pathologist (2026-2027 School Year)

General ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the ESA Special Education Director, the Virtual Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides speech and language services in the areas of student assessment, augmentative alternative communication devices, direct therapy, training and consultation to staff and families to support students to function to their highest possible level within the educational system. The Virtual Speech Language Pathologist participates as a member of an education team in the assessment and program evaluation for students. The Virtual SLP serves as a liaison with medical and community service providers on behalf of children with disabilities and their families.Salary:The full salary range for this position is $63,269.00 - $98,665.00. Salary placement is based on education and certificated experience.Assignment/Location:We are recruiting for a Virtual Speech Language Pathologist for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is full time, 185 day contract. It is 100% virtual and may work remotely from the following states: Washington, Oregon, North Carolina, Utah and Maryland. Regular attendance required: This role relies on regular and reliable attendance to ensure consistency for our students and help support a positive, productive learning environment.This position will close on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Essential Functions/Other FunctionsEssential FunctionsInform principals, teachers and other school personnel of speech, language and/or hearing services.Organize and conduct an identification program for communication disorders and provide virtual services and evaluations by utilizing virtual screening criteria, materials, procedures and record-keeping strategies.Select and employ virtual diagnostic procedures and develop guidelines for a comprehensive remediation program.Follow ESA criteria for caseload selection and dismissal.Select and implement therapy strategies for modifying communicative behavior of each student with a speech, language and/or hearing disorder.Maintain an ESA-approved system to record all identification and evaluative data and continuous student performance information; including Medicaid reporting.Identify and define factors which determine the effectiveness of therapy. Redefine goals and modify therapy strategies consistent with the individual education plan (IEP) or the individual family service plan (IFSP).Consult with parents, educators and other professionals regarding needs of children/students to assure appropriate learning experiences.Complete all required reports and records for compliance within statutory guidelines.Provide technical assistance to communication technicians and assistants.Attending meetings and collaborate virtually with families, school-based data teams and IEP/evaluation teams.Other Functions:Other duties as assigned. Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & SkillsMinimum Qualifications:Hold or eligible to hold a Washington ESA speech language pathologist certificate.Hold a Speech Language Pathologist license in home state.Completed all requirements for a master's degree with a major in speech pathology (except special project or thesis).Experience working with children with articulation and language disabilities.Experience in the identification, assessment, programming and evaluation or children with language disabilities.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in speech or speech pathology.Experience in P-12 education.Experience working with Washington state and federal laws relating to children with disabilities.One year of experience of providing virtual Speech Language Pathology services.Working Conditions/Employment RequirementsWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements:May be assigned to serve more than one school building/district virtually.Must have remote internet service with bandwidth to support virtual platforms such as Zoom or Google Classroom.Maintain a caseload of at least 60 students with SLP direct services.Employment Requirements:Successful completion of a criminal history fingerprint check through Washington State Patrol and FBI.
