They are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to solve complex technical challenges, focusing on system design, production engineering, and technical leadership while shaping the architecture of a rapidly scaling system.

Responsibilities

• Design and build foundational backend systems and services
• Lead complex technical projects from concept to production
• Diagnose and resolve challenging issues around scale, consistency, and performance
• Drive architectural decisions through hands-on implementation
• Establish best practices for distributed systems, APIs, and data ownership
• Partner closely with engineering teams to guide large-scale refactors and platform evolution
• Mentor senior engineers and raise the overall technical bar

Skills

• 8+ years of experience building and scaling backend systems
• Strong background in distributed systems and high-throughput architectures
• Experience evolving monoliths into service-oriented or microservice architectures
• Deep understanding of system design, performance, and reliability
• Experience designing secure systems (auth, identity, access control)
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and making high-impact technical decisions
• Strong communicator with a collaborative, hands-on mindset
• Experience with modern backend stacks (TypeScript/Node.js)
• Experience with cloud infrastructure
• Experience building internal platforms or developer tooling
